ROB MCCLENDON:  CYBER TERRORISM IS A CRIME CERTAINLY REFLECTIVE OF OUR TIME.  IN A DIGITAL WORLD, WE FACE THREATS AS RELENTLESS AS THEY ARE ABUNDANT; OUR FUTURE DEPENDENT ON, CYBER SECURITY.  RICHARD GEORGE IS WITH THE NATIONAL SECURITY AGENCY; THE FRONTLINE IN THE WAR ON CYBER TERROR.

RICHARD GEORGE:  THE GOVERNMENT HAS BEEN FACING A CYBER THREAT FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS, BUT THE INTERNET HAS EXPANDED THE THREAT FROM GOVERNMENT TO INDUSTRY TO PRIVATE CITIZENS.  SO THE FACT THAT, THAT WE HAVE NEW TARGETS OUT THERE FOR THE ADVERSARY, THAT’S WHAT MAKES IT AN INTERESTING NEW TECHNOLOGY.

ROB:  AND TECHNOLOGY UNDER CONSTANT CHANGE.  ACCORDING TO GEORGE, IT IS A CHALLENGE TO STAY ONE STEP AHEAD OF CYBER TERRORISTS.

GEORGE:  THE ADVERSARY IS GETTING WISER, THE TARGETS ARE SPREADING WIDER AND WIDER, AND THE FACT THAT THE WORLD IS SO CONNECTED MEANS THAT LOCAL DECISIONS CAN HAVE GLOBAL IMPACT.
