Rob McClendon:  Well for many, author Michael Wallis is the voice of the heartland.  A transplanted Tulsan, Wallis made his literary mark with books on the famous and infamous.  In addition Wallis is well known for his passion for the open road, penning multiple books on Route 66.  He also garnered fame as the voice of the sheriff in the Pixar movie, CARS.

I became their consultant for many years, through the development of the film.  Then they asked me to become the voice of the sheriff of radiator springs, our mythical composite town, 49 Mercury, and I had great fun with that.  And then they commissioned my wife, Suzanne, and myself to write the book, THE ART OF CARS, about the making of the movie.
