Rob: Well visiting recently with a college student set to graduate, my advice was to stay in school and not rush out into the working world, because this is not a great economy for a job seeker. But the more I thought about what I said, the more I realized I just might be wrong. Sure, trying to get a job in any number of industries is no easy task these days; yet, the old adage, “necessity is the mother of all invention,” still holds true, especially in an economic downturn. Bill Gates is largely credited for changing the way the world works. But the computer systems he invented weren’t conceived in any high tech laboratory, but by a college dropout working out of his garage. Today’s college graduates do face a tight job market, in a world where many industries are either re-inventing themselves or just withering away. And in their place may be the next Bill Gates working out of a garage on an innovation born out of necessity. I’m Rob McClendon. Thanks for watching. See you soon.
